Dr. John O’Loughlin, DMD
I continue to be amazed at the difference a healthy, beautiful smile can make in a patient’s life. My goal is to do whatever it takes to get my patients smiling again! It is a privilege to work with so many people improving their teeth, smile, and overall oral health. I feel honored to have my patients entrust me and my team with their oral care. At O’Loughlin Dental, it’s all about our patients. My team and I love what we do and it shows in the beautiful results our patients achieve.
Education and Experience
- Undergraduate Degree – University of Missouri
- Doctorate of Dental Medicine – Tufts University
I’m always looking for continuing education opportunities. Since graduating from dental school in 2003, I have averaged almost 100 hours per year of continuing education courses and seminars. As dental techniques and materials improve, I feel it’s my duty to my patients to stay abreast on all this information to be sure I’m offering the best dental care possible. Continuing education has also made it possible for me to offer more treatment options for my patients, including orthodontics and implants.

Outside the Office
Moberly, MO has been my home for nearly my entire life. Living, working, and raising my family here has been a true pleasure. My wife, Alison, and I just celebrated our 18thwedding anniversary. We have five children, Morgan, Lauren, William, Harry, and Eli. Our kids keep us pretty busy, and I love playing with them and coaching their soccer teams. When I have free time, I enjoy playing most sports, including training for and competing in triathlon races. Just recently I competed in my first Ironman triathlon which really took a lot of my free time as I trained for it. I also love being involved in the community. I am currently the Bishop of the local congregation in my church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints here in Moberly. I am also serving as a member of the Moberly Public School Foundation Board, and I’m a “Partner in Education” at South Park Elementary school.
